The Abbey of Montecassino is one of Europe’s most important spiritual and cultural centres. It was here that St. Benedict wrote the 73 chapters of the ‘Rule’ that transformed Western monasticism. It has been razed to the ground and rebuilt several times, but its precious heritage has always remained intact and continues to represent a symbol of peace and resilience for humanity.
